One of the most common questions that I get when people call in is how much is a case worth? In Ontario we don’t have a quote, unquote re-chart systems that says fractured ankle is worth x, back injury is worth y. What we do have is a system that looks at the specific effects of the injury person’s life.
So one injury can affect two people in completely different ways. For instance, if someone works out in the woods chopping down trees and carrying them on their back, the case is going to be a very different one from someone who primarily is sitting and is able to modify the postures as need be. That’s why this area of law requires us to really understand a client’s situation and their needs and position.
If you don’t understand that, you can just never value these sorts of cases properly. That’s why we take that so seriously, make it a hallmark of our meetings with our clients.
